While some people find it better working from the comfort of their homes, others find it distracting & therefore prepare working from their places of work.
For some people, the office environment gives them a feel of productivity while some feel too pressured with their bones & other people around.
How to be Productive When Working from Home
To overcome the pressure from your place of work, you can work from home and still be productive. The tips below can be of great help.
Prepare for the Day as if you’re going to Work
Start by waking up early, doing chores, taking your bath, having breakfast and possibly dress up as if you’re going to work.
Plan your Day Ahead
Create a to-do-list of the things you want to achieve a day before and make sure you stick to it.
Share your Schedule with Family
This is necessary when you’re staying with people so they know when not to disturb you. Disturbance from them could distract you and make you lose focus for the whole day.
Choose your Work setting
Choose a comfortable area in your house that can serve as an office and make it look like one. It should have a table for all your documents and devices and a comfortable chair to sit, avoid distractions and ensure it is well organized.
Use Technology to Communicate
Being away from the office doesn’t mean you should be unaware of the happening in the office. While working from home, you shouldn’t lose connection with your co-workers , you can communicate with them via audio or video phone calls.
Pick a Mood Music
Music is soothing to the mind, it can easy every tension or pressure you face while working. You can have a cool music in the background of your workstation to keep you calm.
Your choice of music shouldn’t be too loud but should be calm and mild.
Avoid Social Media
This is another distraction that should be avoided. It can make you lose focus, if you must attend to your social media platforms, it should be during the time allotted for your breaks.
Work during your Productive Hours
The early hours of the morning are your most productive hours. You’d feel active and energized, utilize your productive hours as much as possible and try to achieve more during these hours.
Work on tougher tasks at this period & allocate simpler tasks to when you’re less active. Remember not to work yourself out. When tired, you can take a break, a launch break probably and relax before going back to work.
Don’t postpone tasks you’re supposed to do with the thought that you’ll do them later, you’ll end up not doing them at the time you’re supposed to.
Try as much as possible to accomplish all the task you set for the day.
Whenever you feel like you need to take a break, take one, you can have launch during that time, return calls, respond to emails but don’t forget yourself.
Remember you’re working as if in the office, so your break time shouldn’t be more than your work time.
Take Care of Yourself
You need to take care of yourself while working. To help you feel relaxed, you can have some snacks by your side & drinks or coffee to help you calm down.
